Robbie Lopez-Shue has been serving as a higher education professional since he graduated from Ball State University in 1995 with his master's degree in college student personnel—administration in higher education. He has worked in the areas of academic affairs, housing and residence life, and student affairs. The main reason why he became a higher education professional, and remains one, is because he enjoys working with college students. He knows they can all succeed, and he wants to pay it forward since he had such a positive college experience.
Before joining the IUPUI community, Robbie was the director of student success and retention at Ivy Tech Community College. In addition to working at Ivy Tech, he also worked at Ball State University, Harrison College, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. He earned his bachelor's degree in journalism and advertising with a public relations emphasis from Central Michigan University in 1993. He is originally from the Detroit, Michigan, area and now calls Indianapolis home with his husband, Jim, and their daughter, Riley.
